SNL Pokes Fun at Whopper Virgins

For years Saturday Night Live has been poking fun at current events, including presidential miscues, sports parodies and advertising campaigns. The question I’m asking, is whether or not the extra publicity is good for the brand/person, or does it have a negative effect? We all saw Tina Fey dressed up as Sarah Palin, and I would say that this hurt her campaign more than helped. Yes, it probably helped Palin in the long run, and made her more memorable than she might have been, but it also made her look unintelligent, and even crazy at some points. 

Take a look at the video below, as SNL reenacts the Whopper Virgins campaign by Burger King. I have disliked this campaign from the beginning, simply because it does not truly get anything accomplished. The skit below outlines the major reasons that I thought it was a poorly thought out campaign. What do you think?
